The Listening Room is a very quiet performance room with great acoustics, where musicians can be heard by an audience that comes to listen. It's very similar to a House Concert setting but open to the public. We're able to seat 50, with standing room for up to 60. A door cover is collected from $7 and up depending on the performance. Musicians are encouraged to promote their CD sales during the night. The evening starts with a community Pot-Luck at 7 p.m. followed by the performance from 8-10 p.m.

This is a benefit concert for the American Cancer society, an organization near and dear to Michael's heart. Michael will close out the show.... other artists playing will be Tom Irving, Abby Vail, Rick Fetters, John Botelho and the duo of Andy & Judy.

The acoustically superior Dewey Memorial Hall at 91 Main Street in Sheffield, hosts a monthly series of local, regional, and national musicians performing in an intimate, family-friendly atmosphere.

Light refreshments available. Suggested donation $10 members, $15 nonmembers.

Michael will perform 2 full sets of music with a short break in between for refreshments.

NEFFA (also known as The New England Folk Festival) is a fabulous blend of dance, music, crafts, and food from many lands. The 2012 Festival, our 68th annual Festival, is to be held on April 20-22, 2012 in Mansfield, Massachusetts (near Boston). 

Michael Troy has great respect for the folk tradition of story telling. Not only is he an interpreter of traditional songs but tradition is abundant in the songs he crafts himself. Michael wil perform one set of 50 minutes on Sunday.

Northeast Regional Folk Alliance Conference.

Michael has been selected for a Quad Centric Showcase at this awesome conference.  Over 750 musicians, presenters, agents and DJ's attended.

He will perform in the Dutchess Room.

Host Nate Smith hosts a 1 hour Open Mic to start off yhe night.  Chuck Williams does an opening set and Michael Troy will be the featured performer of the night.

Michael has been asked to perform his songs for a gather of the Green Futures and NoLNG Activist groups to be held at Heritage State Park in Fall River.

Ramblin' Jack Elliott is a true American original. Born Elliott Charles Adnopoz, the son of a Brooklyn doctor, Jack has since the early 50s personified the footloose, carefree, hitchhiking, sing for your supper troubadour. He is Woody Guthrie's spiritual heir and an early inspiration to two generations of fledgling folkies....

This monthly Songwriter Series is hosted by John Fuzek.  This month he will have Michael Troy, Chuck Williams and 2 guests to be announced soon!  We'll update when that info is available.

So, whether you prefer to sit outside under a tent (new this year) stretch out a blanket or sit in an auditorium or our big coffeehouse setting, you'll be hearing some of the best music around. It's the biggest festival of its kind in the Boston area, and the greatest place to be if you like live music. Overall, it the best music from quality talent, the finest food and craft vendors from the New England area, and a fun, friendly atmosphere for the entire family.

Michael will be presented in a formal showcase at the 4th Annual Southeast Regional Folk Alliance (SERFA)

On New Year’s Eve 2011 the Homegrown Coffeehouse will feature a special ‘In The Round’ celebration of music and poetry performances with Chris Pahud joined by Ken Batts, Cheryl Perreault joined by Steve Rapson , Tom Smith and special ‘In The Round’ guest for the evening, Michael Troy.

Songwriters in the Round is a totally acoustic (no PA) showcasing of the songwriting craft. On the second Sunday of each month at AS220 will find three songwriters to join the host and share their work, writing a new song on a theme specifically for the event. The show will run from 6pm to 8pm, and includes 4 rounds of original songs. Host is Joanne Lurgio this month

The Society presents a concert of acoustic, folk, or bluegrass music on the second Saturday of each month (except July, August, and December) at the West University Community Center - 6104 Auden at Rice Blvd. Phone Paul Cooper at 713-204-1207
     These concerts are always acoustic music of various types ranging from bluegrass, singer/songwriter, Scottish, Irish, cowboy, old time country, and of course, folk both traditional and contemporary. The concert begins at 7:30 pm. Admission is $12.00, $8.00 for senior citizens (65),  children under 12 free when accompanied by an adult, children 12-18 and students with ID $8. Tickets are sold at the door.

Club Passim - Campfire is a 4 day event. 

Friday starts at 6 PM and Sat/Sun/Mon begin at Noon.  Performances are throughout the each day till closing featuring many great artists!
