The cure for any February cabin fever is a Los Straitjackets show!

This run has a few great surprises... Sarah Borges will join the 'Jackets in Fall River and The Iron Horse with solo opening sets. In Annapolis, the band will play a double bill with the incomporable Bill Kirchen and at the Birchmere, the band will be sharing the stage with the very cool James Hunter.

In Brooklyn and Sellersville, we've planned a grand experiment.. a full on Rock & Burlesque spectacular. The band will be joined on stage by old friends The World Famous Pontani Sisters as well as Miss Saturn & Ruby Valentine. In Brooklyn, the very cool band Jenny Dee & The Dee-linquents will open the show.

My friends, I have a very difficult announcement to make. I've had to cancel all upcoming shows due to having been diagnosed with cancer. I don't know how long I'll be in treatment, but I hope to be back out there to see you all again someday in person. Meanwhile, don't miss any of the upcoming Los Straitjackets shows. They'll have some cool surprises for you, and part of the money will help toward my medical bills.

The rest of us in Los Straitjackets are wishing Danny a speedy recovery. We will continue to play all of our scheduled shows. In July and August the band will be joined by Daddy O Grande's cousin Gregorio El Grande (from Guadalajara) on Guitar.

  What happens when a squadron of guitar-wielding Lucha Libra heroes on their way to rescue Santa Claus get lost on their way to North Pole and end up wandering the strees of East LA? Well, a tree trimming party hosted by none other than the King of Rock y Roll, of course. Awakening after a 3 day bender with a tinsel hangover, El Vez and Los Straitjackets emerged with a vision for a Holiday party that will add a little tequila to your Egg Nog  and swaddle the Baby Jesus in a fashionable Mexican blanket.

They have met before (most notably to record a Spanish language version of “King Creole” for the Straitjackets’ 2001 vocal album “Sing Along With Los Straitjackets), they usually pass each other in low-rider sleighs on the interstate while separately bringing their own Christmas Tours to the masses. This year—the two will collaborate an an all new show entitled ¡Viva Christmas!. Viva will juxtapose the surf-twang holiday instrumentals of Los Straitjackets (performed of course in their traditional Lucha Libre masks) with all the holiday magic of El Vez’ Christmas-themed material.

Los Straitjackets will serve as the band for El Vez, and the lovely El Vettes will provide their trademark vocals and choreography.
