Bring a picnic, lawn chairs and blankets to the Hermitage back lawn for Sunsets on the River!  This program that began last fall answers the communities’ call to keep the gates open after museum hours. The grounds will remain open from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. for live music, light fare, and libations*.

The event also provides an excellent opportunity to walk the garden paths and view the beautiful heirloom plants grown on the Hermitage property. Notable fall blooms include Asters, Boxwoods, Heirloom Roses, Hydrangeas, Lavendar, and Wisteria. Select plants will be available for sale. The Changing Galleries in the Museum will remain open for guests to view the exhibition Sailors' Dreams: Works by Cesar Romero.

*No Outside Beverages Permitted. Cash Bar Available.

Proceeds from the festival go to benefit the Western Albemarle Rescue Squad and other local charities.

The festival will once again be held at Misty Mountain. Local food vendors, breweries and wineries will be on hand all weekend long.
