Rich Baumann

Rich Baumann has been a performing artist for thirty years. He began as fiddle player in several bands. He has been a solo performer since 1986 performing in more than a dozen states and in Canada.  Rich plays guitar, fiddle, banjo, and piano and a few other things.

Dave Schindele is cohosting the evening.

Dave Schindele Is a prolific and inspirational songwriter, with a wide range of subjects and a wider passion for music and people. His songs have the ability to change people.

Angela Smith and Tom Zografi

Angela Smith and Tom Zografi write and perform music together.They also host an open mike at ZuZu Cafe every Saturday from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.


Ken Kovak is an accomplished guitar player in a variety of styles. He plays with Angela and Tom as well as Salaam Shalom, a band featuring Middle Eastern music.


Eivind & Steph

With guitarist/songwriter Eivind Hesselberg, vocalist/songwriter Stephanie Thousand, and percussionist Tony Bublitz, the alternative acoustic group "1000 Fingers" formed late June 2010 with a focus on acoustic rhythms, vocal harmonies, and thought provoking lyrics.  Hesselberg and Bublitz had been playing in a freshly dismantled alternative funk/rock band and were living on the East side of Madison as room mates when Stephanie Thousand and a mutual friend showed up needing a place to crash losing her live in job.  With the feeling of defeat in common, the three current band mates found solace in each other's intuitive musical abilities and decided to collaborate on their own original songs as well as new ones.  With help from local legend Jim Schwall and an enthusiastic neighbor, the trio was guided to the Singer/Songwriter Showdown challenge at the Alchemy.  They won handily in their first public performance.  Since then, 1000 Fingers has played on the 8 O'Clock Buzz on 89.9 WORT, the Memorial Union, and most recently at the Songwriters in the Round at the Brink Lounge.  The group is currently working on new songs, demos, and opportunities to share their music.  With musical influences including folk, classical, bluegrass, funk, rock, metal, samba, jam, jazz, world music and more, 1000 Fingers shows off an eclectic range of sounds and skills providing something for all musical tastes.

Rich Baumann founded The Million Closets Project in January of 2007. We have now taken $29,000 worth of donated musical instruments and distributed them on the Gulf Coast to deserving individuals and schools.
