Simcoe's premiere chamber ensemble, the Amity Trio, will introduce their new configuration to Barrie audiences on Wednesday, January 5 as part of the Colours of Music's "Midday Music with Shigeru" concert series. This is an hour-long lunch time concert, beginning at 12:00 pm, at Hi-Way Pentecostal Church, 50 Anne St. N. in Barrie. Tickets are $5, available at the door, students are admitted free.

The Amity Trio will perform Haydn's "Gypsy" Trio (No.39 in G major, Hob.XV/25) and Beethoven's "Archduke" Trio (Op.97 in B-flat major). This will be the Trio's first "hometown" concert with new pianist Olga Lishansky, who made her debut with the ensemble in November at Stouffville's Lebovic Centre for the Arts / Nineteen on the Park.

"Midday Music with Shigeru" is a concert series dedicated to showcasing the Colours of Music Festival's beautiful Shigeru Kawai grand piano. Concerts take place the first Wednesday of every month at noon. The Amity Trio (Michael Adamson, violin; Alyssa Wright, cello; Olga Lishansky, piano) performs Beethoven's "Archduke" Trio, Haydn's "Gypsy" Trio, Schubert's "Nocturne", and two of Piazzolla's "Four Seasons of Buenos Aires".

This will be the trio's debut with new pianist, Olga Lishansky.
