Being Still Feels Really Good

Posted By Alyse Black from Austin, TX November 24, 2009
After so many months of being on the road, being home feels really, really good. I know this might seem obvious to most, but when I get the itch to go tour, I frequently forget this. And I'm getting healthier by the day here. Home is just healthy. Sure, it helps that I'm not in bars and other adult-beverage-serving establishments every night. Sure, it helps that I'm not driving all night to make it from one place to another where I have a safe place to stay. Sure, it helps that I'm able to work out and take my vitamins and eat healthy, fresh food. But I really think that the reason for home making me so much healthier - be it Seattle or Austin - is that I have such amazing friends and family. In all honesty, I have amazing friends now across the US from all the touring. BUT my two homes are where I've built my biggest support groups of phenomenal people, who are all doing their own phenomenal thing. And I LOVE the people in my life. Love, love, love, love them. And not packing up and driving to a new town every morning feels like a bit of bliss!Until the next tour, that is...
